"Plume moths," Will said, looking at him with a strange loving regret, like a farewell. "White plume moths. There's an old saying, that they carry memories away."
~Silver on the Tree, Susan Cooper
I am now trying to remember if it was Alan Garner or Susan Cooper (the dark is rising) who perpetuated the myth that plume moths take away memories
Well done!
Congratulations! Enjoy it.
I dunno. We used to buy them in the local bookshop π
Oh my kids used to LOVE those. They would have 'boxing matches' with them on long journeys in the car.
Habe mich fur eine Stelle angeworben, wo ich fliessend Deutsch sprechen dΓΌrfe π¬
*eine Trosttorte. Jetzt hab' ich's verstanden. Mein Deutsch ist very rusty.
Was ist ein Trosttorte?
Oh, always such a relief, isnβt it? One of my two rescue cats has always been a bit of a wanderer and we are always pleased when she comes home for a bit!
In my parents' time people died of things like mumps or were severely crippled by polio. Only too happy to have been vaccinated and to have vaccinated my kids. Oh, and my daughter's autism was not caused by vaccination but her excellent health probably was!
Must. Stop. Procrastinating.
Orange crush. Followed by shiny happy people.
What a fine cat!
Hello goodbye
Gotcha. To my shame never been that far up. Would love to tho'
Hey is that Doric? I grew up in the Lothians: not the same at all (confession: I am English)
Love that book. Reread it a few years ago and it was just as good.
Congratulations on the diagnosis. Hope it helps!
Does the ice cream help to motivate you? I just left my swimming shoes in a big heap and I will regret it in the morning. Wish I lived near water all the time!
Enjoy! Currently in Scotland and looking forward to a swim in the loch tomorrow.
Never drive in France. It's the national sport π
Happy wedding anniversary !
That's my job for tomorrow π¬
Pour une fois
J'essaie d'écrire en français
Mais je préfère
La langue de Shakespeare à langue de Molière
Just for once
I will try to write in French
But I prefer the language of Shakespeare over the language of Molière
Oh, me too! Far too slatternly.
Aha, so you are not a closet Victorian maid, keeping all your laundry for Wash Day π
I love the idea of having a day in the week to do laundry as opposed to my house where there are constant loads and four of us fighting over one machine.
Even prettier after all the rain we've had this week!
