Canonicity is often a challenge people are all the more excited to overcome.

When I started, before I got a good feel for how durable any characters were, I used tanks or supports. Generally, as long as you're playing the objective (on the cart, on the control point, etc) you are helping the team succeed.

Sticking with your team as a deathball is another strategy.

The easiest way to tell is to grapple an enemy. They eliminated the "stunned" state; the first foot soldiers you encounter will get knocked out of shooting at you, but then immediately whip out the stun baton and electrocute your arm.

Another aspect that is likely overlooked is how they adjusted the difficulty setting for the game. Rather than just doing hp/dmg tuning, they made the enemies "smarter":

Grunts would taser you more quickly in melee, bots would try to keep their distance after striking, that sort of thing.

I subscribe fully to the idea that the only thing that cannot be tolerated in a society is intolerance.

Not every idea has to be accepted as having equal value. If you think a person shouldn't have rights, then take your Nazi ass out to the dumpster and hop right in with the rest of the garbage.

Did they give Spencer dumb hair? Yes. Is the plot convoluted and you can see where chunks of the game were cut out due to time and budget issues? Yes.

But the swing mechanics, the setpiece fights, the enemy AI, and the game feel were perfect.
