Optical illusion :)
Shame no other image seems to show that entrance
Not clear in any of the photos, but this section is definitely part of the station, but set lower. It also appears to have an arch below the window, plus the barriers at the shop level. It very much looks like the underpass, but I may be wrong. It is slightly clearer in the original photo
this last photo is most perplexing.
It is interesting to see WH Smiths there (and very cool to see the original building in the image before). But it seems the underpass was originally on the OTHER side of WH Smiths. I was not aware of that
I love how our AI overlords have decided that Forest Hill was so technologically advanced that we had motor cars (see car & van in front of the station) in the 19th century!

Palestine Action have WON their judicial review in the High Court!
A massive victory for free speech, freedom of association and the right to protest.
A massive defeat for the draconian attempts by Keir Starmer's government to curtail our fundamental rights.
'Tis the season again ... the autumn and winter rubbish has accumulated and we want to help put a proper Spring in everyone's step. Help us clean up this local footpath

I think this might be of interest to organisations like @familiesforsafestreets.org to help quantify issues and monitor interventions to prove if they are having the desired outcomes.

they've also changed their bluesky handle already - @walkwheelcyclet.bsky.social
I'm glad that @zackpolanski.bsky.social has become leader of the Green Party. I believe his style and emphasis meet the challenge of the moment.
Polanski has won *by a landslide*. 20,000+ votes vs 3,705 for Ra,say/Chowns
I am one of the 14 authors who chose to leave the Polari Prize, and I find myself frustrated and saddened at the way this entire story has been represented. 1/
If you haven't already, please sign our petition to the Government asking them to fund a new Resilience Plan. This is about pressuring them to help us get ourselves more #climate-ready together.

It's three years this week since the UK media reported that 1000 families were going to sue the Tavistock (Gender Identity Clinic) for medical mispractice. There wasn't one "family", let alone 1000. It was clear, at the time, that it was bullshit propaganda, and even clearer now. 1/
π βThe stated rationale for the protracted [fuel duty] freeze since 2010 is that it helps hard-pressed motorists, but the main beneficiaries have not been white-van man but the better off, who drive more, own more vehicles and buy gas-guzzling SUVs.β

In a landmark ruling, a UK judge has upheld the publicβs right to submit dashcam and helmet-cam footage to police, after a retired solicitor attempted to sue a cyclist who filmed her using a mobile phone while driving.

This was already a problem before the slop era. So now we are properly fucked.

I was thinking of occasions like this one (at least the party took responsibility, but was driven by their agency):

I have to admit I have some interaction with Network Rail's community engagement team in my area of London and have found them individually helpful (within the scope of such a bureaucratic organisation), so loathe to accuse all.
You are probably right that those who actually chose this agency may have been aware of this approach and are also responsible, but we've seen more agencies doing such underhand (particularly political) work and there ought to be a way to address this aspect (e.g. a role for industry certification)
And in case you don't click on the comment I quoted, here is the post it was referring to
bsky.app/profile/jmkp...
Not sure I would blame NR directly for this, but we definitely need to get to grips with underhand 'engagement' tactics like this from agencies or they will undermine the whole process of citizen participation in decision-making.
Fantastic day marching, and chanting, around London for #transpride - lovely atmosphere
This is performative cruelty at its most stupid.
1 - Lots of trans people have their lived gender identity on their passport
2 - Why? What's the point? What about attending a political conference relies on your birth genitals?

FB is therefore either unsecure (and is being hacked by spammers), or breaking its own terms by sharing my number with sc*mmers.
Utter b*ll*cks.
(and thank goodness for the **** key to keep this close to civilised)
I's so f***ing annoyed with myself. I had managed to avoid FB for years, but needed to promote a local event for the @fhsoc.bsky.social so put a tiny Β£ amount into promotion there.
The result, because they required my mobile number for authentication, is nothing but sp*m calls to my mobile - daily.
