I get that totally. It came as a shock to me as I loved the bleak ferocity of Take Them On. I quite admire bands who take risks, though, so I've always had time for Howl. The way they played the songs last night was amazing. They sounded so good.

RLB said in Manchester that they were playing it how they wanted to record it if circumstances hadn't got in the way. I loved it.

It was a really moving moment. The audience were singing along and then RLB just let them take over. The whole hall was filled: everybody knew every word. I wouldn't have guessed that the SR were a big influence on BRMC, but there you go.

No, they didn't play that one.

Their gig in Manchester yesterday must rank amongst my favourite ever live shows. Still buzzing. It was immense.
