Another tough day for team “there’s no point in complaining about AI, just accept it.”
Another tough day for team “there’s no point in complaining about AI, just accept it.”
there was also a Stanford study that found that a surge in AI slop by lazy people actually created significantly more work for others who had to decipher and correct it
this "I'm being efficient" (but not really) vibes well with the American obsession with artifice and appearing productive
LOLOL and now you blocked me for this comment. Very chill. Very cool. Not at all sus.
I don't fuck with misinformation, even if it's left-leaning.
So the ImpeachTrump account apparently blocked me for commenting that this story about Epstein survivors suing Pam Bondi wasn't legitimate news and parts of the photo collage were fake? 😂
ANYWAY. Stay skeptical, lovelies, and don't fall for misinformation. #EpsteinFiles
Respectfully, y'all, there are no legitimate news sites reporting anything on this, and the photos the women are holding are not even of Pam Bondi. They're just some random blond lady in a black suit. The pose the woman is in doesn't even match from photo to photo. Really don't think this is true.
Now I want tacos... And a trip to San Diego
I'm guilty in the past of impulse reposting rumored "news stories" because I agree with them, but that can't be the way.
We fact check everything. On both sides.
Word of caution: there are no legitimate news sites reporting anything like this, and I'm skeptical of the photo at the top of the collage being real because those are not photos of Pam Bondi they're holding. They're photos of some random blond woman.
FYI if you aren't aware, @officialgrammarly.bsky.social is stealing the identities of real authors without their permission and using them in their fake "expert reviews" and the only way to get them to stop using your identity is to manually opt out:

For those keeping score at home:
I informed Grammarly via email precisely what I thought of their appropriation of my name and reputation and received an email from their head of litigation promising a full response by the end of the week.
To be continued...
I think if I were to send the head of legal at Grammarly a note that said I broke into his house and took his wallet, but in future, he could opt out of me stealing his wallet, that would go great and they would be fine with that 👍🏻
I finally lost my shit about so-called AIs, LLMs, enshittification & everything fucking evil that @officialgrammarly.bsky.social is doing. I'm fucking furious, and not just about what 1 company has done. An open letter to Grammarly & the rest of the LLM hype machine www.moryan.com/an-open-lett...
The cover of The Feywild Job by C. L. Polk
So I don't know what to say about this book. Ten years after Saeldian ditched Kell in Baldur's Gate, they're back together for one last job
Kell will get everything he ever wanted. Saeldian will lose everything they have except the power that keeps them safe--but it's the least they can do for him.
“Tehran is burning. And smoke has filled the streets. It’s impossible to drive out of the city right now and even with the windows closed, heavy smoke is making its way inside."
Read every word.
republicans have literally made everything worse and harder and more terrible over the course of my entire life and somehow* they keep coming back to power bc of our feckless corporate press and a weak willed opposition 😒
*sob
House hearing on fake "kids safety" censorship bills happening right now. Call your lawmakers!!!!

Hi Sakshib! Thank you for asking a question. Especially an easy one. The answer is absolutely yes.

This post brought to you by the fact that I thought I'd revisit season 1 of Veronica Mars just for fun, just to see how that goes, and now my life and productivity are ruined.
@lisandravcomedy.bsky.social's skits are supposed to be parodies, but they're just reenactments at this point
My brain is so completely frustrating because what do you mean I can't consume media normally? That I'm either entirely disinterested or I'm compelled to obsessively consume it and read every wiki article until I exhaust myself and can finally move on?
Headed to nttbfest this Saturday? @fiercereads.bsky.social will be doing an ARC drop that includes galleys of The Bloody and the Damned! Make sure to check out their booth at 1 PM CST to get a chance at one! #booksky
What if there was a mindful way to steal people’s art, pollute Black neighborhoods, and raise everyone’s electric bill?
Against a background of dark violets and green leaves is shown the illustrated cover of Enchanting the Fae Queen, in which a mischievously grinning woman with long blonde curls, a moonstone crown, a pink dress and bare feet, sits perched in a tree teasing the uniformed general who stands before her, his expression determined and one of his hands around her closest leg while she pokes his strong nose with one finger. Above that cover image is this snippet of text: He could not bear a world without his nemesis in it.
This week's Monday snippet comes from Enchanting the Fae Queen, which is out in ebook, paper, and audiobook:

I don’t know how to use chatgpt etc but I imagine it’s going to a website and typing “oh no what groceries do I buy please tell me false god for I am so weak I cannot go on” as your brain atrophies and leaks out of your ears from disuse and the machine is like “buy eggs milk bread and a horse”
It's my birthday on Wednesday, and I'm going to give away a bunch of these ARCs sitting on my desk. Multiple chances for entries, including if you subscribe to my newsletter, so I'm just gonna....slide this link on over....
