BACKLIST TIME! (It's not a thing but I'm making it a thing)
SFFH people: What's a story you've written that you are particularly proud of or want more people read? Caveats are:
- It can't have won any awards
- It has to have been published 2022 or before

That includes the alternative workshop methods: drive.google.com/file/d/1dq5n...
We can't require every writing group to use them :) but the resources are there for folks open to DIY! And of course this is a work in progress so staying flexible and adaptable to feedback is critical.

Cover of A Necessary Chaos, by Brent Lambert. It shows two bearded men gazing into each other's eyes, one upright and the other inverted, in shades of magenta and black, on a black background speckled with what might be yellow fireflies. Text at the top says, BRENT LAMBERT in small yellow letters. At the bottom, larger white letters spell A NECESSARY CHAOS. In tiny yellow print at the bottom it says, "Horny and heartbreaking." - Sam J. Miller.
Hand holding open a book with a partial view of the cover of A Necessary Chaos, by Brent Lambert and a partial view of a page close to the beginning.
A surprise awaited me in today's mail -- @brentclambert.bsky.social's A Necessary Chaos! Already deep into the first chapter.

Cover for Eden Royce's Who Lost, I Found
Book birthday for Eden Royce's Who Lost, I Found. Why should you care? Because this is a fantastic collection of short stories, celebrating the Black South through Southern Gothic, weird fantasy, and folk horror (including a Shirley Jackson Award finalist).

Right before it goes to beta/crit readers, because by then I'm *pretty much* sure there are no major structural changes. Then I wind up doing "one final pass" in word and making a bunch of line level changes, rendering the scriv file completely irrelevant.
I like to live on the edge.
