Can anyone help? 📚💙
Can anyone help? 📚💙
Enjoy the rest of the book - but also, sleep is very big and clever
I loved Project Hail Mary!
Just finished Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman. This is a 'kids' book but she pulls no punches. In this world the whites (noughts) are the minority and we see how the relationship between best friends Sephy (cross) and Callum (nought) plays out. Still an important message for modern times. 📚💙.
Anyone have good resources on how to open a bookstore? #booksky #📚💙
Can't help, but good luck
A story about a true crime podcast investigating a cold murder case. I got to the end thinking there was going to be an obvious twist - which didn't happen, so the ending felt flat. Maybe I should read it again with my expectations managed. A solid 3*** from me. 📚💙
Borrowed a couple of puzzles to take on Retreat for the 'social' room. Couldn't take them back without finishing them first!
I really hate it when the ending ruins the whole book. This happened to me with Our Endless Numbered Days. Don't start that book either.
The Trials of Marjorie Crowe by C. S. Robertson.
I am a bit annoyed with myself for not sitting down properly with this modern day witch hunt. I picked it up in the evenings waiting for my HRT gel to dry, or while cooking, or trying to switch off on retreat.
Not a long book. Must read again. 📚💙
My OH suggests Storygraph, but I've never tried it
I don't have any suggestions, but damn, I didn't know Goodreads is owned by Amazon
Thank you 💜💛💚
If you're in the UK then follow along and come to the next one!
My first reading retreat
We did it! But I haven't really had a chance to process it yet.
Feedback has been great and I have spent the weekend with an amazing group of readers.
Now I have to decide if I want to turn this into a viable business.
More updates to follow once I've reflected 📚💙
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, I really should read them all. Haven't watch the TV programme yet though. I think this might be a book first scenario.
I don't like to give bad reviews, as I know I can't write for toffee, but I just can't get on with Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta series.
Well, I needed a breather after reading the Tawny Man trilogy, and that was it.
Not sure yet what I'm going to read next. To the TBR pile...📚💙
Thanks. I was having visions of critiquing texts like we did in school. This sounds a lot more fun
I'm curious. I've never thought to annotate a book. Can I ask what you note? Is it bits you like? Phrases that have meaning to you? Thanks
Torn now as to whether or not I should continue the series, as ages aside, these books were awesome 📚💙
I thought we were fighting back against the whole child bride thing, regardless of what their culture is. And why are all the young lads getting married etc at 15? I am even more disappointed because the author is a woman.
...there is one big ick to it that I just don't like. The relationship between Prince Dutiful (15) and Narcheska Eliana (13 I think). WTF? I know it is fantasy and based on medieval times, but to portray it as a loving relationship and claiming she's a woman because she's had her period is wrong.
Been a bit incommunicado recently because I've been obsessively reading the Tawny Man Trilogy by Robin Hobb. I've loved it...BUT...spoilers ahead
Thanks! I'll check it out
That's a very pretty cover
That is such an awesome find! Must be really bizarre to have someone else's perspective while you're reading - and the illustrations are good too
It's #nationalreadingday in the USA. Maybe if our 'friends' at ICE sat down and read a book or 2 they'd stop shooting prople and the 🌎 would be a nicer place to live.
So, this is where I'm at this Friday.
📚 Fool's Fate by Robin Hobb
🎧 The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald
How about you?
📚🌎
I run a #bookclub and someone has asked for some romantacy. If I was to read a standalone book, which one should I start with? 📚💙
I don't think I've tried the ginger. I do like a bit of ginger and chocolate. Green & Blacks are usually my go to for that
Ooo, I didn't know Mark Gatiss wrote books. Will have to check that out at my library
