It is strangely calming, hanging out at the cemetery. When I ride my bike around town inbetween shifts, I like to go through the cemetery, slow down and read the names of people buried there. Its really pretty to see the decorated stones.

Im a bit of a weenie baby when it comes to not being able to shower every day. I just cant sleep if I feel dirty, and I am not really close to any friends that I could borrow the showers of. And the nearest community center is closed on Sundays. I was ready to go stinky till Monday and be miserable.

Watercolour with pen work completed on the spot in Winchester in 1997. The figures were quickly sketched in at the time. I sat there for about three hours.
Here's another watercolour from a sketching visit back to Winchester where I spent a year at the art school in the '60s. I had a particularly productive stay in the late '90s and this is favourite from then. It was bought by a friend and I'm sure she's looking after it.
