What is up with the revolving door of dem lawmakers who essentially decide to be one term lawmakers by shiving the party and everything they stand for?

You would think they would, oh jeez I don't know, *want to stay within the Democratic ecosystem* even if they decide they don't like the Senate.

Everywhere I go I see his face.

Okay but now the most important question: do they still have a deli slicer in the MCDC closet?

I'll believe that the market is immune to it when crude oil goes back above $100 a barrel

Again, what happened to the the commodities traders that treated every sneeze on an oil derrick as an excuse to side the price of oil by 5%?

11.03.2026 16:11 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

There is a good paper to be written about how oil was treated like a globally fungible commodity by the markets right up until fascists needed the price to be low despite a global oil shock. So now the US oil market is only 40% higher than preshock while southeast Asia talks of rationing.

See, unlike mark kelly, Chris Murphy knows ball, there is absolutely no reason to help Trump fight his war.

As an opposition party, their job is to highlight the failings of the administration, not help them.

Plus I'm sure there will be 2 different endings depending on which interpretation you prefer as well!

It's really ironic that we counter proliferated so hard as to create a partially failed state with several hundred pounds of unaccounted for HEU

Like I don't know what you would do differently if you were trying to make call of duty 4 real (yes I know you can only make a dirty bomb with it)

Currently loving Trumpvangelion part 82: we (do not) have a plan

Absolutely not, but personally I try not to think about the several hundred pounds of highly enriched uranium floating around a country currently having it s entire command and control infrastructure eviscerated.

One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.

We must never lose sight of how absolutely fucking hallucinatorily batshit this is. The other guy says when you surrender now? That means *you* are the one suing for peace

β€œwhoops, turned out trump didn’t actually have a historic mandate to rule like a king and people were just mad about inflation” is a thing that basically every politics reporter knows but none wants to admit

Okay to put this into perspective per troop that's
- $11.61 in steak
- $5.30 in lobster
- 76Β’ of salmon
- 10Β’ of doughnuts
- 9Β’ of ice cream
- 2Β’ in sushi

The DoD is a fucking huge by personnel count and a large amount of what they eat comes from these purchases.

I mean wouldn't you need to sink basically every >30ft boat in Iran to truly stop them?

The other issue is that the charade can only go on for a few days considering it's already been a week and missed shipments are going to start piling up.

10.03.2026 18:17 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

the Dem party number is easily explained by the fact that bluesky is full of people who will crawl over broken glass to vote for Democrats in November and also hate Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries with every bone in their body

I don't understand why, even if the war ended right fucking now, the markets don't seem to understand but they're still going to be a severe oil shortage for weeks at a minimum.

I get that the first missed deliveries wouldn't be arriving until like, now maybe, but that doesn't make them fake!

If I understand correctly, the thing propping up the global economy is Wall Street’s collective belief that a man whose father, wife, and daughter we killed would not want to do anything that would impact our 401ks to us and will make a deal so Mr. Trump can have a good midterm.

I saw someone say that wall street has basically turned into retail memestock traders, and honestly the similarities are palpable.

Respectfully, I have had 80 mile commutes before, and I live in one of the densest areas of the country.

09.03.2026 21:23 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I just don't understand how long they can maintain this, considering the oil shortfall is already significantly higher than that of 2022.

How many hundreds if not thousands of refugees has Donald Trump condemned to death in their home countries?

09.03.2026 14:36 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

remembering when Trump had that press conference announcing Google had built them a Covid tracking tool at the start of the pandemic and the market shot up 10% (!) on the news and it turned out to be a total fabrication they just made up

Map of gas prices

This might just be an NJ thing, it's more like 30-40 cents in my experience

Seriously: the most pessimistic takes I've seen that don't come from @johnlotsofnumbers amount to a 2022 redux with short-term Katrina scale damage to infrastructure.

Which is still really fucking bad!
