But that fresh dust of snow actually helped with traction on the old ice, and I was able to cycle into work for the 4th time in 2026
@h-boy1
"You must become part of the solution, or remain part of the problem!" I guess I am a leftist! Wanting the best for everyone must be bad? Happy urbanist that believes the bicycle will save society! π²π³οΈβππ¦ From Edmonton but heart for Canada π¨π¦ π

Great questions! I canβt wait to read the article
I donβt see paper cups themselves being a problem, but litter certainly is!
Not sure this is the right approach for YEGCC, they need to develop an education campaign instead of punitive measures that will annoy people more than they already are
One of the easiest βtaxesβ to avoid paying.
Yet it remains a hot culture war issue that solves nothing
Exactly because of this I have multiple sets of glasses dispersed throughout my house. Nearly every room has a set, even if they are older. But then I can use them to find my current pair.
Here we have enough snow that plows created windrows that block most street crossings. Maybe 1 cycle track is cleared (by design as voters hate βbike lanesβ and as such have no longer been prioritized). Anyone using outside automobiles have been given the big middle finger.
So much clear pavement!
What opposition is there?
Letβs look provincially. How fast βdebate sessionsβ were ended and harmful legislation passed?
Tell me then, is a majority good? (Especially when βwhipsβ demand you tow the line)
Hope is in the way!
This is the first winter in decades that I have found to be difficult for anything to do with outdoors, but memories are short and rarely accurate
As you then know, those supporters are then represented and it requires the βhouseβ to collaborate. I never assumed extremists would cease to exist, but rather be represented. Collaboration is democracy, anything else is authoritarian
It says our current βfirst past the postβ only further propagates tribal tensions. If we look at any riding we do not see a majority, so letβs further disenfranchise people. Just like any system, it needs to evolve and change or it becomes stagnant. Democracy demands participation
It is too bad, they have shown to have great candidates that care for their communities. But I do see the political climate has become so tribal. Maybe with electoral reform we can have proper representation instead of partisan ideology
Whoβs gonna take him βdownβ?
Face it, he and his administration are untouchable by legal standards
The only thing CDN conservatives want to fund is their corporate overlords and friend, thus ensuring when they step out of politics is to have a high paying gig
Yep, they are unfairly over represented. Only the loudest and rudest voices are given space
What makes Alberta an attractive place to set up a large business?
Employees will no have access to healthcare, no affordable housing, no affordable energy or insurance costs. Alberta is now about coming in to find a desperate workforce and take advantage of them. Hunger games stuff.
This is all hate can do. It does nothing productive.
Who platforms hate and division?
The blame game and gaslighting is really effective!
Sadly so many are easily influenced by lies
A govt so inept it has to send ideas out to the public to vote on. Certainly it would be more effective to campaign on those things, but not conservatives. Why bother having elected officials?
Just like Alberta
As in making e-bikes the enemy
More culture war BS. When will common sense return?
I have found the U to be pretty good. Maybe find a rack that has other bikes affixed to it. Although I donβt know many that brave these temps
Haha! I mumble sarcastically βNice stop!β
Speed signs are disregarded, stop signs and traffic lights are often ignored. Crosswalks? Fair game to kill whomever enters. Broken down on the side of the highway and be killed? No enforcement and no consequences
As someone who HAS to drive occasionally, it truly appalls me with the blatant disregard for road rules and other users, but cyclists are the problem???
Well, another 2 weeks of being impeded from using the bike. For a βwinter cityβ we sure cannot deal with snowfalls. Even walking is nearly impossible
Those albertans do not really want βnegotiationsβ, they prefer a tantrum as it puts all eyes on them. So, in reality, there is no official grievance to discuss or negotiate
No, we will never know the full extent or where the bodies are buried. Accountability is not a thing in the US (or really Canada) anymore. So much power has shifted upwards
They argue that QC and ON as well as Atlantic provinces represent a greater # of seats. Totally not understanding what the senate is or how/ who represents. Education is sorely lacking
