Comic Marketing comes in 2 forms:

1. Look at this ✨cool, new title✨!!
2. Becoming an octopus, answering emails, solving 9 emergency situations, coordinating multiple items, photoshop warlock, social media, meetings, and desperately trying to eat half of a chicken caesar wrap for the last 4 hours.

NPD bookscan does cover manga but it’s expensive if you’re not receiving it through a publisher. I would love to see sell-in numbers for manga — not just sell through because that’s such an interesting piece of the puzzle

Knowing which titles are where in terms of the market and in what formats they are most successful is useful information for the long time and maintained health of the industry. (2/2)

The industry both WANTS and NEEDS sales charts. They aren’t just to see what’s selling so folks can high five about high numbers. They are a CRUCIAL tool for marketing and sales folks to determine marketability, key selling points, & provide accurate comp titles to allow newer or debut titles (1/2)

Reading Volume 6 of Dragon & Chameleon. GAH! Words can't describe how much I love this series. If anyone feels stuck or unmotivated to draw their comic/manga series, then you should read this. It's so inspiring! Hope it becomes a anime one day. Would love to draw my comics while watching it.😍✏️❤️❤️❤️

In an effort to take things slower, I took the metro to work today. 30+ minutes longer including transfers but I can zone out to d&d podcasts
