2026, March 10. Indonesia, Rote Island coast in East Nusa Tenggara province. A mass whale stranding of 55 pilot whales. At least 21 of the pod that stranded have now died.

2026, March 9. Malta, Mediterranean Sea, coast of Comino, San Niklaw Bay. A carcass of a 1.5-tonne cachalot (sperm whale) washed ashore. The whale measures around 6 metres and appears to be a juvenile.

2026, March 8. Eastern Mediterranean. Fireball. Time: 18:36:44 LT, 16:38 UT. Duration12+ seconds. A bright meteor was visible over the eastern Mediterranean / Webcams from Beirut, Haifa, Tel Aviv and Eilat. Probably linked to Germany event.

2026, March 8. Germany. Fragments damage homes in Rhineland-Palatinate and other regions. Police report damage around Koblenz following a visually confirmed meteor / fireball over West Germany. The object created a sonic boom that was heard over a large region.

2026, March 5. Tasmania, Bicheno, Denison Beach. A sperm whale carcass washed ashore in an advanced state of decomposition. The decomposing whale was first spotted floating off the coast on Tuesday night before washing up on the southern end of Denison Beach.

2026, March 4. Taiwan, Hualien's Chongde Bay. Either a fin whale or an Omura's whale, also known as a dwarf fin whale. A partially decomposed 15.4-meter whale carcass was found. The site, about 20 kilometers north of downtown Hualien. Towed to Chongde Beach.

2026, March 3. Canada, B.C. Large Fireball. Sonic Boom. People reported a sudden bright flash in the sky followed by a loud, house-rattling boom. Several Lower Mainland seismometers at 9:10 p.m. confirmed that the boom was not an earthquake.

2026, February 20. New Zealand, NE of North Island, Pataua Island (Pataua South area), Waipawa bay Northland. Dolphin stranding (species NA). Initial reports have 14 alive and 2 deceased. Updates to follow.
