We've updated this news article to share that update 1.2 released today, including the promised remapping in PowerWash Simulator 2.

Responses on Steam tell that several people were waiting on this functionality to finally be able to play. It shows how essential the option to rebind controls can be.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting SpecialEffect, as they shared their vast experience in making games more accessible for all, as well as letting us get hands on with their tech. It's always great hearing about the incredible work they do, and how we, as game developers, can support this!

For everything from games, apps, to operating systems: If your design needs a bunch of options to make it usable, you've got your priorities backwards. Accessible design and less options is a win-win situation.

It's also a heck of a lot cheaper, in terms of development and user retention.

Happy International Women’s Day, especially for the many amazing women in tech and accessibility. Those who make a difference for everyone’s benefit and deserve more recognition, respect, and safety than the gaming industry provides.

PlayStation shuts door on studio and PC ports, raising accessibility concerns - Can I Play That? Closing Bluepoint Games and canceling PC ports raises some concerns about the accessibility of PlayStation titles past, present, and future.

Remakes, remasters, and ports are opportunities to improve the accessibility of (older) games.

This is why the closure of Bluepoint Games and canceling PC ports raises some concerns about the accessibility of PlayStation titles past, present, and future.

It’s sad that this wasn’t an accessibility feature in RE9 to begin with, especially when this game was made by a company as big as Capcom, but I’m so glad the modding community stepped up to help their fellow gamers ☺️

Brand new access buttons still not being colorblind accessible in 2026… the deepest of ironies.

The best time to start thinking about and talking about making a website accessible is at the very beginning, before any content or code has been written. But the second best time is right now.

In addition to needing to play PokΓ©mon Leaf Green with an accessible controller, having to get my glasses from the other side of the room to play the game on the TV when I did not need them during the GBA era is a reminder of how the need for gaming accessibility will come for us all.

For anyone curious, I found @marathonthegame.bungie.net 's server slam build does not have menu narration and also uses free-cursor menus, thus making it inaccessible to gamers without sight.
Full DPad navigation and menu narration would improve things, as well as help with CVAA compliance. #A11Y

Happy RE9 day! Wild it’s released PokΓ©mon Day. πŸ˜‚ Which are you playing first? RE9 or Fire Red/Leaf Green? $70 is too much for me because IDK if it is accessible to me with my physical disability, I might be getting PokΓ©mon now and wait for RE9 to go on sale and get an accessibility review. πŸ€”

It has been incredibly difficult to find games in Steam Next Fest that have accessibility tags. Devs PLEASE if you have a demo, and you might have some accessibility options, ADD ACCESSIBILITY TAGS!

For now though AbleToPlay has a great curated list below of accessible demos to try.

Replaying the RE2 remake and honestly I just play it with a list of all the safe combinations and stuff open on my computer. When games make note of solutions like that when you find the note in the environment that is peak ADHD accessibility. I don't take notes, if you try to make me I'll cheat.
