I’ve been in a bit of a daze the last few days, and totally missed the passing of Augie Meyers. When I first started getting into what was called Alt Country back in the late 80’s, it was impossible to miss the influence of the Sir Douglas Quintet. RIP Augie.

Summer of 86, I was in a show at Theatre in the Park with all my buddies. We were walking around the Plaza one night, and a girl driving by rolled her window down and yelled “OH YOU NASTY BOYS” at us. The name stuck and so did the song.
