Probably the most common bit of advice I give to students to improve their writing.

A really good piece of journalism on someone who gives journalism a terrible name. I may get in trouble for saying this, but going to anyway - it’s a stain on @sport.theguardian.com reputation that we carried on using him for as long as we did. Thankfully, eventually, saw the light and ditched him.
