Mud, Puddles, and Campfires
I walk a 5km stretch of the Shonai River a few times a week, and lately, I’ve been spotting a group of junior high school boys out there. It makes me genuinely happy to see them.

Inspired by Mark Power: Return to Neodani
There's a particular kind of photography I've always been drawn to but never quite had the words for — until I started watching Mark Power's Magnum course, Picturing Place.
Snow in Mie and a Few Free Minutes
Right on the heels of the previous post, here's another mini photo essay from an evening walk during a snow blizzard in Mie prefecture.
Just pulled out a dusty Lenny Kravitz Greatest Hits from my CD collection. I'd forgotten I'd had it and have it blasting away on my WIRED (with a real cable, not Bluetooth or Wi-Fi rubbish!) Bowers and Wilkins speakers while the family is out.
This doesn't happen with streaming.

Mt. Miroku and the Osaka Dilemma
I've been up Mirokusan so many times now that it's impossible to count. Every time I do, I have grand ideas of taking a great photo or two, but that, of course, never happens.
Still knackered after the ten-days-in-hospital adventure, while my daughter is full of energy because she was confined to a bed the whole time and now it’s snowing (barely so) outside, so she’s going crazy.

Purchasing a NAS has made browsing older photos much easier. Now I want to go back to Delhi. Aaaaaand, the Canon 5DM2 was more than enough after all.

It's a very long read. When did you climb Mt. Ena? We can see it from near our house almost every day.
I wrote a very short post about hanging out with our daughter over the holidays.

Took a trip to Taketomi in spring and have hardly stopped thinking about it since. Such a wonderful island.
