It’s hurdy-gurdling surely?

I don’t think anyone arguing about depth of the Premier League but Bayern would still fuck Wolves much like they do other lesser German teams.

PSG barely scraped through last year and then won the whole thing. I suspect that there’s many features at play, could it be that teams in other leagues are less sharp at the beginning because their leagues lack depth? And they develop the sharpness through European games?

That seems a lot of copium to me

It is of course YouTube’s responsibility, I doubt anyone would claim otherwise.

Probably an algorithmic decision

It doesn’t sound like the book is based on particularly rigorous research tbh

They should put a monkey on the Β£50 note and a pony on the Β£10 note to confuse the hell out cockneys.

The number of cancer deaths worldwide has more than doubled since the 1980s. Does that mean we're losing the fight against cancer? Not necessarily, because it depends on how you measure it. On this chart, you can see three ways to look at the same data. 🧡

Opinion Polls 3 weeks before the last election were predicting 500 Labour seats and Ed Davey as LOTO. They were massively WRONG. Yet the people of Bluesky treat every weekly Youguv poll as if it's the ten commandments mixed with the judgement of Solomon and will definitely happen in 3 years time

A lot of people on Bluesky sneering at this. But Russia has no interest in helping Iran, apart from the fact they're a key regional ally, they sell them Shahed drones, and that a prolonged war and with it rising energy costs help the Russian economy.

The Chevening scholars I've had the privilege of knowing have been gifted with intellect, empathy and good judgement. So of course the Home Office is telling them to get lost.

There's a bunch of Chevening Scholars in my Masters classes and they massively enrich it. Impressive people and also so obviously wedded to going back and improving their own countries.

Can anyone explain to me what the Blue Labour justification for this is? Who out there will vote Labour because Mahmood prevented a Sudanese Chevening Scholar? And to be honest, why won’t the PM simply overrule her?

I think you probably can't understand modern America and recent elections without understanding that:
1. evangelicals have more kids
2. they vote
3. they sincerely believe that all the Jews have to be in the Holy Land in order to trigger a big war & all convert/die so that Jesus will return

Also, stretching that analogy somewhat, would adults have been OK not only with banning kids from going outside but also having to verify their age before they went out themselves, and also had all their activity tracked?

10.03.2026 13:07 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Im a slightly older parent of an 17-year old and I had a ZX81, Spectrum and latterly a Gameboy growing up so I think we’re the first generation to have technology in the house growing up.

10.03.2026 12:55 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

There was an analogy made about how we legislated to make the physical environment safer for kids. Which is true but we didn’t do it by banning kids from going outside. We already have the laws to make the Internet safer, let’s enforce them

10.03.2026 12:39 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

counterpoint: it really isn't for many Iranians but is for others. Horrific as it all is, these sorts of comparisons don't help
