Happening now: ~13 miles away from the Broadview detention center, hundreds hitting the street in downtown Chicago in protest of ICE.
This is probably an instance of "security through obscurity" thinking: he knows or suspects there are vulnerabilities in the app, but thinks if no one sees the source, that it won't get hacked. The entire internet operates on the opposite principle: open everything.
I hope defunding ICE will be more successful. It does have a much larger percentage of us behind it, but it also has Trump who doesn't care what we think on their side.
I watched a video with a major thesis being that debate almost never changes anyone's mind (there's research that shows this).
