I'm driving a moving van again this weekend, I should probably warn them this might happen
screenshot of an image in a discord channel. the caption says "incredible. Josie has done a self portrait of her driving the van". the image is a satellite map with a blue line indicating the route, and the route clearly resembles a stick man seated inside a shape with a big, square back and and a sloping front end.
just remembered when @bzzjosie.bsky.social was helping me and @morl.bsky.social move, and she accidentally drew herself with the GPS tracker while we were trying to find a petrol station
B told me about this yesterday and I have to say, he's absolutely everything I'd hoped for.

I was so happy when I worked this out. There are a few on the Bilbcraft subway network which are signposted as a "safe drop with a water-saving design!"

The parable of the Nazi Bar, a screenshot of a series of tweets by Michael Tager (in a screenshot from Google Images). It's a long text and I'm not going to transcribe it here, but this Wiktionary explains it link and full Wiktionary definition below): https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Nazi_bar Popularized by an anecdote shared by Michael B. Tager (@IamRageSparkle) on Twitter in July 2020. Tager recounted visiting a "shitty crustpunk bar" where he saw a patron abruptly expelled: the bartender explained that the man was wearing "iron crosses and stuff", and that he feared such patrons would become regulars and start bringing friends if not promptly kicked out, which would lead him to realize "oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now" only after the unwanted patrons became too "entrenched" to kick out without trouble.[1][2] (Instances of people noting that if a bar starts serving Nazis other customers stop going and it becomes a Nazi bar are older.)
The screencapped tweet from the OP, Thea Sewell complains she's been told she's unwelcome in a local pub because of her bigoted views.
So nice of The Times to make sure we finally get the other side of the story.

Doing some teaching with my student this afternoon once we've got all the clinical care wrapped up. We've become a proper little double act.
I'm working tomorrow but I'm passing that way again on Tuesday, I'll try to get a photo ๐
@littlehux.bsky.social I was driving so I couldn't get a photo, but I've just passed a huge billboard on the A6 advertising a holiday company, which is a close-up on two people reading paperbacks (presumably on their holiday) - and one of them is Hits Different ๐
Turn the other way up?
Netflix videos could be about to turn the other way up
The Greenhouse, Manchester's one-man vegetarian/vegan restaurant run out of someone's front room. 50-odd dishes on the menu all made from scratch, plus specials. A meal took three hours and he could only manage about 5-6 covers per night but my word it was delicious.

Just listened to a podcast advert which said "on your favourite podcast platform" instead of "wherever you get your podcasts" and I know what the words mean but it feels deeply wrong to change the slogan of podcasts like that
