Also timestamps for topics are forthcoming, please be patient with us!!!!!! 🥲
EX episodes will be more casual and unstructured stuff like this, so we hope you enjoy them while we work on the next proper episode. This one is part 1 of 2 because our discussion ran so long, so we'll have that up next week!
What's this? A new episode already?! Since we couldn't get started till the end of 2025, enjoy a recap of some of the anime, movies, and games we enjoyed last year! creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/...
You can find us at open.spotify.com/show/3ckgg1T... (citations always available in episode descriptions)
We also are not eligible at the moment for transcripts on Spotify, but apparently these are being rolled out gradually, so accessibility will happen soon. 🥲
Aside from that, have fun and feel free to leave us constructive feedback! Wear a respirator in public! 😷
Through editing and simple communication, we'll be trying our best to make sense of my words if I'm fumbling my words or dealing with brain fog. I was always a better writer than a speaker, so just know that (hopefully) I'll be able to write some stuff in between these episodes for better clarity.
Additionally, please note that I (Joey; just going to speak in first person here for clarity) am chronically ill and disabled and suffer from illnesses that affect my energy levels and neurocognitive functions. They don't stop affecting me while recording!
Additionally, please do NOT expect a regular schedule for the podcast. This is a leisure activity for us, and livelihood takes priority. Just know that when an episode *does* drop, it'll be great!
We're actively working on making our mic setups more consistent and clear, but please bear with us as this is both a time-intensive issue as well as a monetary one.
(also music by the wonderful @abbymachines.bsky.social 😊)
Here's a bit of what you can expect when tuning in to The Auteur Club (thread please read the whole thing I beg of you):
We're proud to present the first episode of The Auteur Club podcast, featuring a discussion of the work of Yamada Naoko!!! creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/...
Hey there.
It's been a while. 👀
Also, our intro/outro were done by the wonderful @abbymachines.bsky.social. We can't wait for you to hear how good they are!
We have two episodes done at the moment, and we can't promise a regular schedule as of yet, but they'll be up very soon and we can't wait to hear what you guys think!
Our scope isn't limited to anime, however, as we'll also talk extensively about film and video games, so hopefully we'll have a little bit of everything for everyone.
Our goal is to get people talking about and watching things perhaps outside of their comfort zone, and hopefully to get people talking about anime in ways deserving of the artists who create it!
We'll be foregrounding labour, production practices, and artistic sensibilities in our discussions and won't be talking a whole lot about seasonal anime unless something catches our attention. We're giving a space to works maybe a bit outside of public purview at the moment!
Our goal with this podcast is to have a platform to have a more considered and thoughtful discussion on anime as an art form, specifically focusing on key figures and landmark projects throughout its history.
Hello lads, lassies, and everything in between! Announcing a brand new anime-focused podcast hosted by @rescue-rabbit.bsky.social, @ryborg009.bsky.social, @cadillacdesert.bsky.social, @monoclegrizzly.bsky.social, and @mistydes.bsky.social: The Auteur Club! soundcloud.com/auteurclubpod
