Perhaps _you_ should chill and and understand that being a sarky SOB is unpleasant?

UK House Prices Graph & Data (From 1952 - 2024) Historical UK house price data from 1952 to current year, using Nationwide's house price index from their mortgage lending data.

I'm seeing Β£2000 as the average house price in 1956 according to this link
www.propertyinvestmentproject.co.uk/property-sta...

Though for context, average UK salary in 1956 was Β£1000.

In 1989, my starting salary as a degree qualified electrical engineer was Β£10,650.

Average salary today is Β£38352 according to a quick Google search.

House prices as a percentage of salary today are much higher than in 1956.

I wish that payback was true in the USA. Solar installs are about 3x more expensive in the USA than in Australia. I'm assuming NZ pricing is closer to Oz than US levels?

Two words.
Hydrogen Embrittlement.

BTW most hydrogen comes from fossil fuel. If it does come from renewable sources, it's about 1/4 the efficiency of using it in a BEV.

My 'golf cart' isn't from Chevy, but I bought it lightly used for a similar price to a new bolt. It has 400bhp, AWD, and was cheaper used than the same vehicle and age in ICE form that had far lower performance.

Oh, and it also costs less to run and has virtually no maintenance cost.

I doubt it. There are already far better and cheaper alternatives available that don't come with US political baggage on the other side of the Atlantic.

Unfortunately, none of these will make it to us shores.

Maybe if it wasn't pre hobbled as a very short production run model, and had apple car play and android audio connectivity, and we could trust the company to not cripple the features later by putting them behind subscription walls, more people would want to buy one.

Screenshot of a post by Team Talarico quoting James Talarico saying national media never ask him about housing or prescription drug costs, only about trans athletes. He argues billionaires are the real minority harming the country, while trans and undocumented people each make up about 1% of the population. As a reminder, your immunity from the MMR vaccine can wane over time. I'm 58, so I went in for an MMR vaccine a couple of weeks ago to boost my protection. It didn't cost me anything, and CVS even gave out a $5 off $20 coupon for getting it.

There are now active measles cases in Raleigh, NC.

Proving once again that you can't fix stupid, but if you have a dumb enough population, you can elect it ☹️

I'm glad I got that measles booster a couple of weeks ago.

I've now blocked all corporate WAPO accounts on Bluesky.

I also cancelled my prime subscription at the same time and stopped buying on Amazon.

I used to subscribe to the Washington Post.

I cancelled my subcription when Bezos showed himself to be a Nazi after the last election.

Now he's gutting the staff at the WAPO because of declining subscriptions.

Why do you think that is, Bezos, you fascist dumbass?

Measles Can Erase Your Immune System’s Memoryβ€”Here’s What That Means Measles doesn’t just cause short-term illnessβ€”it can wipe out the immune system’s memory, leaving the body vulnerable to previously defeated infections for months or even years., Health & Wellness New...

Measles is a particularly nasty virus. One of it's side effects is to delete your immunity to other diseases, leaving you open to all those childhood illnesses you thought you were done with.

Not something you want to mess with.

Through ice storm and snow, our power has remained on with no problems.

Tonight, somebody crashed into one of the power poles feeding our neighborhood, so we're powered just from the little 2kVA generator at the moment.

One of my friends had an immunity check for measles, and since his vaccine was over 5 decades ago, he had no antibodies left.

I stopped off today for an MMR vaccine. If you're old (like me), then a vaccine is probably a sensible precaution against the anti vax imbeciles

Not a chance of GM getting a penny of my money, particularly since they obeyed in advance with the fascist dictatorship by cancelling the bolt.

They can go $_&# themselves.

We've got tarps on the front and back steps, and a path from the back door to the charcoal grills and where the generator will go if we need it.
