Life time of living in BC has given me an appreciation for the absurd in politics and real life. Play bridge quite badly. Used to write. Love train travel. Happily married 40 years to man who does not play bridge and hates trains. I don't donate.

Usually nations go to war for a reason, even if it's a stupid one in hindsight. There is no reason this time.

Maybe drivers will copy their elders and ditch their gas guzzlers.

My dryer vent cover needs changing, but it would require taking siding off and husband won't do that.

Also very ugly for a teenage girl - like the James Bond character.

The worst I remember is a teenage girl got her front teeth knocked out with a hockey puck, and plan wanted him to give her steel front teeth. (I never did learn all the right terms) He did not do that.

Husband had retired before this came out. I remember the predictions that dentists wouldn't sign on. Maybe some didn't but most like getting paid.

10.03.2026 00:43 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

There is that. There's also the opposite where plan won't pay for best treatment. Husband is retired dentist. He did a lot of work he didn't get paid for because he wouldn't do what plan would pay for and patients couldn't afford extra costs.

Meanwhile, as anyone who's watched The Pitt can figure out, the healthcare isn't better just because there is a different payment model.

It will also cost businesses a fair whack of change because they'll be pressured to offer plans to employees. Extended health (including dental) are already too expensive for most small employers to offer.

10.03.2026 00:23 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

It creates a new revenue stream for insurers and a new expense stream for physicians who probably don't understand the complexities and annoyances of dealing with plans Ask a dentist what it's like to treat to a plan (what the ins. will pay) instead of best practices, or to have staff to administer

Opening up a pandora's box of stuff you wrote decades ago is a terrible thing. Do I want to read any of it? Scary.

I don't believe in writer's block. I believe in writer's don't wanna.
No one asks quilters if they have quilter's blocks.
(because no one but a quilter wants a detailed explanation of quilters blocks, fabric choices, etc)

So that's where the gold for the gilded Home Hardware wall ornaments came from when the White House got the "Lifestyles of the Tawdry" treatment.

Cat has adapted to daylight savings time. She usually gets fed at 4:00. Yesterday, she got fed at 5:00 (new time.) Today she's decided she should eat an hour earlier. It's kind of spooky.

This has been graffiti at least since about 1969, which is when I first noticed it as a pre-teen, carved into the back of bus seats. It's in the right spot for historical reasons, imo, but don't imagine very many people remember the Clark Parkers era.

At least he cuts his losses and moves on. It might be worse if he had a longer attention span. Maybe he'll decide he's finished with being president and will find a new hobby.

When you're a kid and you're bored, nothing is so motivating as having parent tell you they'll find you something to do.
Adulting means you have to find it yourself.
And I don't want to.

Maybe you know this, but a proud boy is a neutered horse who only thinks he is not. (something to do with way neutering is done - also called high cut, I think)
