Arittri's amazing finding that our old friend Lifeact can make actomyosin flow in the opposite direction, change chirality and flip left and right in the C.elegans worm.

In our latest preprint we show that Lifeact::mKate2 can reverse the chirality of active torques in the actomyosin cortex. This results in cortical flows with opposite handedness during left-right symmetry breaking, leading to the formation of situs inversus worms.

Intrigued by avian left right symmetry breaking we found that a tissue-scale active torque drives chiral flow and requires mechanical coupling to the underlying tissue.
