Lung cancer.
Stomach cancer.
Cervical cancer.
Together, these three make up nearly half of all cancers caused by preventable risks.
The power to prevent them is already in our hands.

Screenshot of a headline reading: "Refugees' jewellery could be seized to pay for asylum costs, says Home Office minister."
This is a new low from a govt plumbing the depths of performative cruelty in hopes that the public won’t notice they have no answers to the real issues facing this country
A sensible, humane govt would focus on safe routes to prevent people making dangerous small boat crossings
Your regular reminder that there is absolutely nothing "hard" or "tough" about targeting the poorest, most vulnerable, and least able to defend themselves groups of people on the entire planet
Join me in calling on @RachelReevesMP to stop propping up declining oil and gas companies with £2.7 BILLION of tax breaks a year (🤯) and fund a jobs guarantee for workers instead: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/en...
Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.
OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.
Text on the image reads: “COVID-19 brought mental health to the forefront of global health discussions. Mental health policies are evolving—but progress is still slow and uneven.”
#MentalHealth can’t wait.
Countries are stepping up—revising policies, adopting rights-based frameworks, and strengthening emergency plans.
Let’s invest in:
✅ Fair funding
✅ Protective laws
✅ Skilled workforce
✅ Community care

The most important news from today's reshuffle:
Wow!
😕
After govt's 11th hour 59th minute climbdown over PIP it's time for Reeves to go back to the drawing board and look for fairer and more sensible ways to raise money - like a wealth tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires to raise up to £24bn a year
honestly... you know, they said that it was about preventing predatory men from ???disguising themselves as women??? to attack women in toilets, and they knew trans women were no threat.
but it wasn't. it was just to humiliate and dehumanise trans people, like any denial of basic dignified toilets
It's also literally impossible, of course. Concrete evidence that you have committed to living in your acquired gender for a period of YEARS is an essential prerequisite for securing a GRC.
These assertions by the EHRC will make it impossible, vitiating the entire statute.

With thanks to @privateeyenews.bsky.social for highlighting the catastrophic impact of the cuts to #ASGSF

Thought-provoking and good and terrifying
Imagine, just imagine, sitting at a computer in May 2025, regarding your massive electoral majority and the long runway till the next election, then looking at Trump, listening to Farage, and saying, "Yep! We need to sound more like those guys."
