I've hit a few dead ends every time I look into the legal route, its just an intimidating process and something that looks to be incredibly expensive even if i were to obtain a trademark
I've come to learn that roles lile this typically have to be filled by those in the actors union, else they explain why they couldn't use a union member for the role. I'm sure there's still overlap there, but it'd at least rule out folks like me (though not our suits)

Disagree, this behavior isnt condemned enough which is why I routinely come across people who "do not know" that its a character belonging to someone else rather than a Chinese bootleg. I've seen these bootlegs for years now, the lesson needs to be grounded in. Obviously I knew you didnt make it

I appreciate you coming forward with an explanation, it might explain why it only came up on sunday. I'll try to spread the word that it was not a malicious act, though I do hope that it will lead people to be more careful with this sort of issue in the future now that they know what happened
You can copyright a character and administer takedown notices in a case by case basis, but its expensive and the necessity of involving a lawyer to some degree has pushed me away from doing it every time I begin to explore. Honestly its a big burden for a personal hobby design

From what I've been reading online it seems that there a lot more people abusing the ease and credibility of the system lately, making it more difficult for those who legitimately need accessibility and services who rely on trust from the general public. Hopefully not fake/unnecessary
