The Navajo Nation Human Rights Commission is pushing for the school district to adopt a restorative justice approach to discipline, seeking to rebuild relationships instead of simply punishing students who caused harm.
The commission's report cited a 2022 @nmindepth.bsky.social and ProPublica investigation that found Native students in New Mexico were disproportionately punished, with the Gallup-McKinley district — which has the nation's largest Indigenous student body — largely responsible.

This bill is just another baseless attempt to restrict millions from accessing essential medication abortion, but we won't let up our fight. Abortion care is health care.
Colleges shouldn't be forced to turn over massive amounts of student data as part of the Trump administration's ongoing attacks against DEI.
We won a court order stopping this mandate as our case continues, and we'll keep fighting to protect our students.
