The PRobe Infrared Mission for Astrophysics (PRIMA) team is excited to announce the release of a special issue in the Journal of Astronomical Telescopes, Instruments, and Systems (JATIS), Volume 11 Issue 03! This issue was edited by Naseem Rangwala and Matt Griffin.

National investment in science and technology used to be a bipartisan priority for good reason. It has ensured American prosperity for the past century. I never thought we would be in a place where this basic reality was in question.

With the presidents’ budget proposing to cut NASA science by more than 50%, a reminder that much of that is technology development, not duplicated by any private company. Once destroyed, the expertise that was built up over decades does not return. What a way to lose American leadership.
