In any marginally rational world, the inventors of the mRNA technique would be on postage stamps and their stories would be taught to school children as an inspiring story of what the human mind can do.

Is it an mRNA vaccine?
What does 'this' refer to?
Why won't Moderna have access to the US market?
The temperature of space isn't the issue. It's getting rid of the heat generated by servers, whether it's sunlit or not
I don't see how data centers in space will get around this
Data centers on Earth use massive quantities of water for cooling. Cooling in space is notoriously difficult because the vacuum of space is a great insulator. Without water or an atmosphere to conduct or convect heat away, the only alternative is to radiate heat away, which is incredibly inefficient
My representative!
It's a small example but when Fort Collins, Colorado (USA) created a dedicated bus lane that passes through the University, new apartment building focused on that corridor, which took development pressure off the edges of the town.
I've always found it fascinating that older liberal arts colleges have geology departments because they were founded at a time when geology was profoundly rewriting humanity's idea of our place in the universe
With a postgis backend, one would "only" need to implement the GUI interface and could concentrate on making it as intuitive as possible. Looks like you've got much of that work done already
For years I've been thinking about a GIS application with an intuitive interface that displays only the most often used procedures as intuitive icons in the toolbar and hides all the other functionality in menus.
What about breast height, as in (tree) diameter-at-breast-height (DBH) in forest ecology and forestry? Internationally set at 4.5 ft/1.3m no matter how tall you are.
Through the hard work of too many individuals to list here, the remote sensing community built a global monitoring system that we thought would be the stepping stone to even greater capabilities. As rancorous as technical and scientific discussions could become, the community were idealists at heart
I don't know, so I don't know. What am I looking at?
Screenshot of bluesky post from 7 months ago predicting a Trump administration ban of iodine in salt
I am now more certain that my prediction of an iodine ban will come true.
I see the problems but I don't see a way to fix them and maintain the "flow" of the sentence. What would you propose as an editor?
Rest in Peace, my brother John. I'm sorry the triple cocktail came too late to help you
Disappointing
Fish fuels would be even worse than what I meant- fossil fuels. I guess we had marine mammal fuels so why not other marine species?
It seems like it doesn't matter- fish fuels are still more profitable for reasons I don't understand. Maybe we need statistics on the relative profitability on each power source
I'm not a lawyer. Is this legalize for "fuck off".
They need to push this shit on us everywhere they can because otherwise the bubble will burst earlier and harder than is already inevitable

No. You could argue that "Mystical Experiences _A_ Source of Moral Knowledge" but they are clearly not "the" source.
This is well worth reading- a takedown of the politics and economics of big tech written for a knowledgeable audience

If thought leaders are so smart, why haven't they thought of a better term than "thought leader"?
Ahhh, he's a communist!!!!
My daughter used to refer to churches as "those buildings with the plus sign"
If they can do it in Chile, we should be able to do it in the US. Based on what I've seen, you need 1 floor of parking for every 7 floors of apartments.
