I shouldn’t mention this maybe, but the last time this happened I do believe a global epidemic hit our country… if my (admittedly sketchy) memory serves.

My response was more a mulling over the whole concept that permeates our culture of “I’ll give, but what’s in it for me?” That angle is more a commentary on our culture than this particular offer. Apologies for coming across confrontationally.

Thanks for the info. Definitely appreciated and I meant nothing against this organization specifically. I am glad that there are humanitarian people and businesses such as this.

Just… why do I need to get something — particularly a luxury — in return for providing the bare minimum to someone else? It doesn’t feel altruistic to me. It just feels… like a bribe… which feels so icky to me.

I’m struggling with this concept.

I AM ALL FOR HELPING OTHERS AND GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED. If I have and you have not, my desire is always to help.

I am also a huge fan of supporting small and privately owned businesses.

Hush is one of my favorites. But Dopplegangland is way up there too. Also a fan of The Body.
