if I'm going to hell, I find it difficult to believe that it's for having surgery when there are so, so many other much more valid reasons to send me there. but also, I believe very deeply and devoutly in a loving and merciful god who would rather I learnt from my mistakes than suffered for them.
called my mum to tell her the good news about my upcoming surgery and instead of being happy for me, she started to cry because what if getting a gender-affirming hysterectomy is unislamic? (it isn't, as far as I know.) so that was a fun and enjoyable conversation for me 🙃

I'm going to talk to my super fund about withdrawing money early to cover the surgery and to my bank about loan options, so I'll hopefully be all right either way, but the surgery is on 14 may so I need to get it sorted by then 😬
