Ken Hinds at @bristolcopwatch.bsky.social community meeting talking about the impact of policing: "stop and search... I call it stopped and scarred" #WeCopwatch
@stopwatchuk.bsky.social Section 60 'suspicion-less' stop and searches are racist and useless - even the police's own statistics show it's used disproportionately and very few searches lead to anything other than police harassment
We're joining @bristolcopwatch.bsky.social for their community meeting this afternoon! Looking forward to seeing @stopwatchuk.bsky.social speaking about sec.60 searches #WeCopwatch

doing 1 funny post then logging out for a month styles
I'm still more active over there but then kicking my platform out from under myself would be pretty insane
I also feel like deactivating takes burden off of the Twitter servers which doesn't feel very insurgent ;x
I get moving to BlueSky (or anywhere else) primarily, but is there actually any reason beyond the performative to *deactivate* your account over there?
I feel like keeping your account but not logging in has benefits, like other people not pretending they're you for the next 3 years for example.
Oh yeah some sort of words I guess
All my best clothes have gone to shit the past few years and I've just not replaced them. I've transitioned to non-finery
All the Right actually has to do is turn up here. If they realise that, this will just be Twitter 2.0
This is a reasonable take except for the minor problem that BlueSky is in fact set up better for the Right than anyone else. The moderation system in particular is obviously gameable
People who want attention but don't want to do labour to acquire it are usually some degree of insufferable
I doubt they're different here
I don't follow back unless you're interesting
If you're following random people just because they typed " #SocialistSunday " (congrats), you might want to a) check that they are actually some sort of socialist, b) check they're not a rabid racist POS
This is so true. We don't fight bigotry by ignoring it or walling it off. We fight it by fighting it. Which a lot of the time means talking about it. And talking *to* it.
I am going to assume most of you are not real people given there's no way for you to be finding me.
Alright but why are you following me if I'm not saying anything here?
There's no way people are coming over from Twitter. I have 10k followers ish there but only like 50 of them actually care
What a fascinating little conversation you're having with yourself there
This was the most offensive event I have ever attended, for rev Bollard to think it was appropriate to say, this might upset a few people then launch into a ten min rant, "I support Cass" AT A TRANS REMEMBRANCE EVENT was absolutely disgusting, I don't think this community will EVER forgive her!π€¬
Gawky, a historic word
The ICCβs arrest warrants are long overdue.
The Prime Minister & Foreign Secretary must immediately endorse this decision. That is the bare minimum.
Will the UK government now, finally, honour its international obligations to prevent genocide and end all arms sales to Israel?
I don't give a shit what Putin wants.
KEEP TALKING ABOUT #SUDAN.
#Russia recently used its #veto at the #UN to block a ceasefire resolution. Russia depends on illegal gold exports from Sudan to fund its war on #ukraine & the notorious #Wagner military group has been present in Sudan & allegedly suppressed civilian revolutionaries.
Any minute now someone interesting might show up
3 people giving the middle finger to a dog. there are trans flags next to the people giving the middle finger and a UK labour over the dog.
