Twitter post by DeepWebSlinger, including images comparing Rush Limbaugh and Jim Morrison. Text: Once see it, you can't unsee it... Who really was Rush Limbaugh? Rush Limbaugh suddenly gained significant attention in 1984 as a talk radio host on KFBK in Sacramento, California. Jim Morrison, the iconic lead singer of The Doors, supposedly died in Paris on July 3, 1971, at age 27, with the official cause listed as heart failure, his body supposedly discovered in a bathtub. No autopsy was performed, fueling all kinds speculation. Witness Protection ?? You tell me...
Get in loser we're Doorsvestigating Rush Limbaugh...

Holding a copy of AJ Bauerโs new book, โmaking the liberal mediaโ.
I have been digging into @ajbauer.bsky.social โs excellent and timely new book โ I highly recommend it!
My contribution draws from ethnographic fieldwork on the Tea party movement I conducted in the summer of 2010.
I think about the limitations of participant observation and interview-based methods but also the strengths of reading with an "ethnographic eye."

Trump: [Attacks Iran without justification]
New York Times: โThis feels a little woke.โ
Also โhumanitariansโ is the most insane euphemism for โneoconservatives.โ
IDEAS How Good Intentions Helped Pave Trumpโs Road to Iran Humanitarians proposed a loophole in international law. Decades later, Trump is jumping through it.
Few believe that Mr. Trump is driven by a concern for human rights. He has also made clear his lack of interest in international law. And the war has already been catastrophic for many Iranian civilians, including dozens killed at an elementary school in an apparent U.S. missile strike on a nearby naval base. Yet the invocation of humanitarianism to help justify the war taps into โ whether the president intends it or not โ a powerful argument that has reshaped the global order since the end of the Cold War.
โFew believe that Mr. Trump is driven by a concern for human rights.โ
Then why write a whole story blaming โhumanitariansโ for his war?
Also the Democratic Party oversaw a Palestine Scare during the Biden years that gets glossed over when we focus on ghouls like Loomer etc.
Or, as often, "people who think they are leftists/liberals but aren't really."
This piece is actually good. Still, I thinking focusing on the "fringe" right-wingers who celebrate McCarthy creates space for more "reasonable" forms of anti-communism (which The Atlantic largely champions).
I have a book chapter coming out later this year that teases this out more...
