I eventually found another phone number and it was a real person. The AI one was convincing for a minute or two because the voice and flow were good but there was a precision and a consistent lilt in the voice that was artificial sounding.

Just yesterday after being on the phone with a rep from a pharmaceutical company (Lilly) for a couple minutes I had to ask, “are you a real person or am I talking to AI?” The answer, not exact was, “I am an automated representative designed to assist you in finding a solution.” Freaked me out.

My personal opinion and I accept it’s probably naive at best but sometimes I wonder if it’s jealousy over this kind of wild and exuberant support given to excellence that fuels racism in some people. To experience community and achievement at this level is a longing they know will go unfulfilled.
