An Etobicoke mom of two has won an appeal against her landlord, who fought to evict her when her husband — the sole person named on the lease — terminated the tenancy agreement after police removed him from the home over domestic violence.

OTTAWA - Several First Nations are warning their members to be wary of crossing the border into the United States in response to immigration enforcement raids and the detention of
Ontario Regional Chief Abram Benedict, who is a co-chair of the Jay Treaty Alliance, told me he’s aware of at least one First Nations individual who was detained by ICE.
“He was returned to Canada and they did seize his certificate of Indian status,” Benedict said.
