That foul is a real problem for the game. Mansfield player running into space on halfway & Calafiori brings him down, no attempt to play the ball.
Should be an automtic booking, but isnt, so he gets to do another one later in the game if needed.

Its what some nufc fans want to do ie sack Howe for underperformance, but it makes it worse, talent turnover leaves money off the pitch in trfr fees etc when we know that that the most important factor in football is ensuring your money is on the pitch ie in wage spend.
I agree in that sense. In stratification theory, you reach the next lvl thru overperformance, but thats unsustainable in the medium term so you have to front load spend in expectation of income.
Front loading spend & underperformance is a killer because the standard remedy exacerbates the problem
club X spend projects 8th. Finishes 5h. Club then increases spending assuming more revenue but then finishes 10th
Everyone angry players/manager leaves, club forced to lower spend to finish 9th, but talent turnover costs mean on field budget projecting 12th

I mean unsustainable spending, partly through what owners can afford chasing 'a dream' and partly now how the rules work.
There's a cycle of clubs spending a lot, doing well but then underperforming a bit which spirals out of control because of less spending/poor decision making/ risky practice.
Clubs overspend in the hope that revenues catch up through success.
Any underperformance quickly puts the club into a spiral of reduced spend which usually goes alongside wholesale changes in the talent.
Wholesale changes in talent is risky for an underperforming club.
Happens so often in the EPL

I & a few others just assumed Spurs would win this midweek & West Ham & Forest would lose, and the story would be how overblown it all was.
