It’s a crucial reminder to be more empathetic and supportive of our immigrant trainees and colleagues, who pour themselves into their work while navigating a quiet, personal sacrifice. Happy Diwali! 🪔

We had a conversation that was a fleeting comfort in a silence that felt heavy. This annual reflection reinforces a simple truth about the path many of us have chosen. The heart we pour into our science is the same heart that longs for family and traditions far away. 🪔

I recall the profound loneliness I felt when I was on campus splitting cells on a weekend that, back home, would be filled with the light and warmth of family. I remember seeing an Indian face in the cafeteria, walking up to him and wishing him Happy Diwali. 🪔

Amidst the quietness of a Diwali weekend this year, one that refuses to become familiar despite 15 years away from home, I remember my first one as an immigrant Ph.D. student. 🪔

My only regret is that we didn't go with the title "One buffer to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them", although "Squeaky clean staining" was a pretty good options too!

This looks like an amazing fix and I will definitely try. The overnight transcription factor staining protocol was already a game changer and I recommend it to everyone.
