the Kansas State government's revocation of ID based on newly legislated (political) criteria is a powerful fact based argument for why the SAVE Act is really just voter suppression, if that should eventually need to be litigated.

The nazis did the same thing to Jews in 1938, invalidating their passports overnight and requiring all identifying documents of Jewish people to be surrendered. They only became valid again after being marked with a red letter and a name signifying that the person it belonged to was a Jew.
This is the same strategy they used against naturalized citizens. They deliberately ignore past president and pull the rug out from under people in order to "catch" them so they can deliver a spectacle of punishment to satiate the bloodlust of their base who revel in seeing people get hurt.
The USPS stated a week or two ago that it won't send letters, etc. daily to their destinations and I think won't give them a postmark. Part of the fascist plan to delay important info, mail-in ballots, etc. That said, what you're reporting is pure illegal, christofacsism, terror.
The letters arrived today. Not last week, not two weeks ago when it was passed or a week ago after the veto was overridden. They arrived the night before the changes were live so no one could do anything about it, just to rub it in and be able to say they’d given notice.
The extraordinary thing is that as came up multiple times during the vote, if you applied to change your marker back the moment this bill was signed, you still wouldn’t have had enough time to comply. The sponsor’s response was that people should have considered it before when changing markers.
Of course isn’t just driving. It’s voting. Working. Travelling. Picking up a package. Applying for credit. Applying for a job. Renting a room. Filling prescriptions. Visiting loved ones in the hospital. Not expired either, but legally invalid.

It’s not just Medicaid funding they’re withholding to MN. It’s food assistance, child care assistance, social services, job training, safety testing, public health, disaster relief. SNAP. Free lunch for kids in school.
They hate us for loving our neighbors, and are collectively punishing us for it.
As of tonight, licenses of trans people across Kansas are being invalidated en masse, enabling the overnight criminalization of an entire group of people for going about our lives. It’s often said you never know when you’re living through history, so let me assure you: that’s what’s happening now.

Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.
