I have a cozy, post-apocalyptic romance set in the Pacific Northwest after a massive earthquake coming out on June 30th. So.... almost in that time frame????
Anyhow, it's called ALL WE HAVE LEFT and is coming out from Titan Books. :)

I have nothing but ALSO agree this is fascinating. Let me know if you get good recs!
Oz the Great and Powerful with James Franco. It IS bad, but I've seen worse. I'm just not sure I've ever seen anything else that was more uninspired.
Though live action Mulan came close.
Happy birthday to one of my favourite haters, Charles Darwin
This was honestly the coolest news to stumble upon!!! I've been listening to Dan Wells talk about books on Writing Excuses since 2016. Stunned and honoured to have my book be his favourite of the past year.
Thank you so much, Dan!!!!!
WHAT???? WHAT????? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Proactively looking for what you LIKE is now more important than ever
Funding people who only platform harm is actively harming what we we will need for after
I'm up for an award! Voting is open until January 30th, so go vote!
Like a lot of people, 2025 had a lot of ups and downs for me, but I'm so grateful for how it ended - surrounded by friends, trying new things and hopeful for what the world can offer.
There is still so much that is so beautiful.

Thank you so much for highlighting Death On The Caldera!!!!! What an honour โค๏ธ
I got back into doing theatre for this reason. Outside of just "being in a show" with friends, mostly meeting up at each other's homes for games and either a meal or snacks. Most of us are beyond any desire for bars/clubs

My nerd self watching #Survivor49 :
1843? Isn't that the year a Christmas Carol was published? AND 25? The DAY of Christmas? Oh, I would HAVE this!
(I would not. That was too much running. Good jorb, Steven.)
My three favorite reads for 2025 are up on @shepherdbooks.bsky.social!
- The Incandescent by @emilytesh.net
- Death on the Caldera by @emmypax.bsky.social
- Riding the Elephant by Craig Ferguson
Why these three? Find out below!
For the second week in a row... WHY ARE THEY CUTTING THEIR MOST INTERESTING SCENES??? We had to sit through that "boy band" nonsense when this was going on???? When they actually FOUND something??? #survivor49
Also, they own a ton of other store brands, like No-Frills and Superstore, which are what are local to me. So yes, I HAVE earned the right to be mad at them!
Looks like we get something to celebrate while our American neighbours are eating turkey. STICK IT TO LOBLAWS, CANADA!!! Also: from what I can tell, bread purchase doesn't have to be at a Loblaws. Their price fixing impacted bread prices at other stores, too.
Stephen Sondheim would be so polite and kind to me, but deep down I know he would just be shaking his head at my basic bitch writing. ๐ญ
Okay, this but #survivor players.
Love Parvati. Pretty sure I would bore her to tears.
Got to fill out a casting information form for Death on the Caldera's audiobook today (yes, I swear! The audiobook IS coming!) and it was incredibly fun. CANNOT WAIT to hear my characters come to life! โค๏ธ๐๐
Wood. It's not particularly close in my opinion. (Which isn't to say the rest of the album is good, just that Wood is that bad)
I went into town to swim and write today, but now my arms hurt so bad I can't keep them up at the height of the library tables ๐ญ
if you're in Alberta and you want your flu and covid shot in 2026 - yes you read that correctly - you have to preorder them right now. So here's the link. go do that. Just in case none of those people get removed from power by then.
please repost this, as the province seems bent on killing us.
I enjoyed that tribal council more than I have 99% of New Era tribals. No forced metaphors relating to someone's occupation! No "what would be YOUR story if this is the end?" Nate and Savannah called out the actual dynamics and put people's feet to the fire. It was messy and wonderful. #survivor49
A US shirt factory.
A worker measuring a part of a shirt on a work table.
In the clothing industry, the term CMT stands for "cut, make, trim." It means you are paying someone to cut, make, and trim the garment. Essentially, it's your manufacturing labor cost without taking into account the cost of material.
The CMT price for making a shirt in the US is about $35.
I really gave this the business, and so can you!
A lot of the questions are VERY "hey, person who *loves* AI, how can we, a government who *loves* AI, make sure companies who *also love* AI come to Canada to do trickledown economics?"
Thank you so much!!!! So glad you enjoyed the book!
A gem of a story, Death on the Caldera by Emily Paxman is a charming whodunnit with roots in Murder on the Orient Express, from @titanbooks.bsky.social #BFSReview britishfantasysociety.org/review/death...
An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.
