Take rinsed rice & wrap it loosely like a bag in a kitchen towel, which my dad insisted should be "dirty" or at least not freshly washed & starchy -a nice soft towel-before putting iin the steamer (or double boiler if you lack 1) and cover tightly. The towel absorbs extra moisture for fluffy rice!
My parents (Dad born & raised in China, Mom in NJ) famously had their first epic marital argument over this, which eventually devolved into them throwing rice at each other across the kitchen. Ultimately, my mom never cooked rice again and I cook rice, when I do, in my dad's "dirty towel" method.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

The headline is deeply misleading. You can’t suspend habeas corpus just “for migrants.” As we’ve seen, ICE will pick *anyone* up. If you have legal status but no right to habeas corpus, you’ll have no ability to challenge your detention or deportation. Suspension for some is suspension for all.
