Crown Man looks kinda Willem Dafoe ish. static.wikia.nocookie.net/john-wick856...
To my delight there are two or three active reconstruction/renovation projects going on. But a few more homes in active disrepair also.
Got my ride in. Wolf lake and Marktown โ Also saw a cool prescribed burn on the way back near 35th st beach
I feel defensive of this thread after your flippant remark that it has only a half dozen religious followers. I personally enjoy the aberrant ones now that there is a mold for them to break. I enjoy the ground level gaze and the incomplete framing of this one.

Color photograph taken in Indiana at sunrise. We're on a the road next to a home, gazing out across farm land toward the sky lit up with sun rise colors. In the center of the image is a semicircular hoop (like a chuppah) that has some barely-visible holiday lights on it. Next to it, in front, is a pickup truck in profile. The leafless branches of a large tree frame the top and left edges of the image. On the right, we see the porch fencing of a home.
Indiana sunrise, Part N+1
Same. (Probably Hammond for me.)
Agreed. Thatโs gorgeous.
Color photograph looking at a residential intersection at night. A streetlight shines from a corner and over the street, illuminating leaves on branches stretched out over the street over a gray sedan of some kind, a porch light illuminating a red door next to a picture window on the house behind the tree. Stretching up over the tops of the silhouettes of trees you can see red lights of a radio tower shining against a dimly glowing overcast sky

Color photograph, in landscape orientation. This is taken while driving south on US Highway 421 in north-central Indiana, at about 5 or 6am. It's a two lane road on pretty flat land, looking out to the horizon. On the right side, tall electrical pylons line the road--as tall a wooden ones get, before they use metal ones. On the left, a structure is near the edge of frame, motion-blurred. At the horizon, bright yellow-white lights show an oncoming car. The sky is a dusky blue, except for some peach hues right above the horizon.
Just north of Reynolds, IN
I really enjoy this project of yours. What a find, this one.
Color photo. We're looking out over a farm's barren winter landscape. At the horizon, the sun is rising and the low edge of the sky is peach, while most of the sky above it is still blueish. Across the top of the image, some electrical lines cross through. At mid-distance, the only real subject in the image is a home or barn. We're looking at the side facing away from the sunrise, so it is nearly pitch black, with detail hard to make out.
US-421, near Medaryville, IN.
Color photo, taken during sunrise. We're standing in the middle of a two-lane US highway, looking down the median toward the horizon. Yellow solid/dotted lines shoot down the road, which is mostly black and empty. At the end, we see a pair of headlights pointed our direction. Along the side, trees in silhouette are almost black. The sky above is peach/pink near the horizon, just fading to blue-violet near the top of the image.

A neighbor on the block organized a trash-pickup today.
4 families showed up. Block looks better. And we've now got a Whatsapp group primed and ready for other activities.
Such an easy way to meet people, build community, and organize for bigger things down the road. 10/10, would recommend.
Color photo taken through the window of the Grindhouse Cafe in Whiting, Indiana. My bike is leaned up against a stop sign. The street signs "White Oak Ave" and "119th" street are above the stop sign. On the window I'm shooting through, there's a hand-drawn image of a penguin, labeled "Gunter". The penguin is framed so that he appears to be standing on my saddle, facing. backwards.
Happy #cycling, Gunter.
Thanks, Josh!
Color photo taken from a car, looking out the driver's side window, through the side mirror, into the sunrise happening bebhind the car. On the right side of the image, you can se the edge of the car in glass and metallic highlights. In the top/middle of the image, you can see a line of electrical wires/pylons receding toward the horizon. And arching over the left of the image is the outline of the mirror, containing a gradient in the sky from blue at the top to blood orange at the bottom. Below the horizon is the tops of trees in silhouette.

Ah interesting! Something about that feels fitting. The architecture feels more suited to that.
Haven't felt much like shooting lately. Feeling sort of done with the night photography phase I was in and not sure what to do next. So I'm trying to just take some random shots to re-discover what feels interesting. Prepare yourself for utterly random stuff and even more mediocrity that normal! :)
Black and white photo staring dead on at a 2-story concrete structure with a long sign across the middle reading, "THE OLD LANDMARK CHURCH OF GOD HOLINESS IN CHRIST."
Color photo of a single-family home with empty lots on either sides, a taller but barren tree next to it, and a blanket of white snow filling out the entire foreground around the house. Behind the house, we see the backs of homes and trees on the next block over.
With the thaw in the weather on Monday, I did my first long ride of the year. Headed down to Whiting via King Drive. I love this church in South Shore. #photography #chicago
A man rounds a corner in a loading dock, staring out into the open, camera in outstretched hand, looking like he might lost or anxious. A green light bathes the scene in discomfort. The numbers 435 are painted on the brick wall to the man's left, about the same size as he is.

Went with Village Cycles in Old Town. Even their 10am open is commendable, given the preponderance of 11am/noon opens elsewhere. And they got me right in, as a walk up, which is great.
Any #chicago / #bikechi people know of somewhere in city limits that does bike repairs before 10 or 11am? Am I the only biker who wakes up early and sometimes needs a worn-out rim or chain replaced before lunchtime?
The Chrysler Building, out of focus in the background. Icicles in the foreground.

This is awesome. Always looking for excuses to bike somewhere new in Chicagoland. This looks perfect
Thatโs a hell of a shot
Color photo taken on the road at night. We're on a two-lane road that rounds a curve to the right, where it disappears into the shadows of silhouetted trees at the horizon. Looming on the right is a large tree appearing black against the ominously peach-red clouds in the sky. On the left, some kind of light or sign is just visible in the shadows, bouncing in view as the car bumps along.

Glad you liked it, Yann. Thanks for the shout out!
