Whoa I thought we were friends
Theyβre a good team to root for. They have had many stretches (like right now) where they are very good but havenβt yet pulled off the SB win. Iβve adopted them as my NY team (the only team to actually play in NY)
The Bills.
Is there a more terrifying question to be asked than βDo you know what you said in your sleep?β I donβt think so.
Itβs pretty disappointing that itβs not 6.66% ABV
Itβs probably the best one. People say nobody can live up to the bar that Bandit sets as a dad, but I donβt know if any kid can live up to the bar set by rusty.
I got a new car yesterday to try to get ahead of tariffs. The dealership said MSRP on this model is going up by $7k next week.
Iβm pretty sure I was at that match with my grandfather.
Was just listening to the Weezer Velouria cover and my god look at this. What a document. @eve6.bsky.social in the lead off spot. The GUK Alec Eiffel rules too. Far, Braid, Super Drag, Promise Ring, Local H, Samiam, Weston, Sense Field.
We used to be a proper music scene.
I still listen to that GUK cover pretty often. Their version of βclose to meβ also.
My immediate reaction was βdonβt forget the bugs crawling in your sheetsβ which Iβm sure is how the song goes.

Iβd love to hear anyoneβs experience (positive and negative) with deploying AI slop code and maintaining it for a while. What was the second iteration like?
Has anyone else had a primarily negative experience with Cursor? Iβm trying to use it βrightβ but find myself getting mad that it canβt fix a test or render something correctly. Rather than figure out how to solve a problem I just send increasingly frustrated prompts and getting βAh, youβre right!β¦β
Now weβre back on track. Just like AOC.
Did you know that when you see β.DS_Storeβ in a gitlab repository, the DS actually stands for βData Scientistβ?
I canβt wait to see the details about how much the ambient music artists are getting paid per stream via Control Center. Surely they wouldnβt do something as crazy as purchasing rights to music used in this feature.

The Instagram algorithm has determined that I want to see 100 clips of Family Feud every day and you know what? Itβs right.
For like 30 years, IDEs have been incredibly useful for doing things like parsing the syntax tree and helping with imports, tab-completion, showing you the available class methods and their arguments.
Now this has all been replaced by an AI _guessing_ and getting it right 80% of the time.
I've been told "[Claude] 3.5 Sonnet is a mid tier coding model now"
At Spotify we had a hard rule about not asking users questions that we should know the answer to. If possible, find a passive way to get the info. This menu would not fly.
honorable mention: complaining about it on social media
Any efficiency gained by AI coding apps like Cursor are immediately lost to all of the developers spending their time fiddling around with different models to find out the idiosyncrasies of each. And, of course, finding all the bugs.
There was also always an awkward dance around promoting indie artists. Majors owned 18% of the company and I'd occasionally get a chart pointing out that indie artists are appearing in more premier playlists, asking why. I suspect this is why some playlists remained algo free as long as they did.
@caseynewton.bsky.social I really enjoyed the Spotify segment. Every time Spotify royalties come up (like every Wrapped) I recall this post from 3yrs ago. Such an incredible summary of Spotify's place in the music industry. An enjoyable read! www.facebook.com/100003786380...
Watching the show Silicon Valley hits different in 2024 than it did in 2014.
I just got an email with a terms of service update for my frying pan.
What are we doing?
An interesting thing about platform engineering is that you have to care more about your coworkers' code and projects being successful than your own.
