A sign showing the movie, Video Heaven, playing at a theater
The world is on fire, but be sure to feel a little better by taking the time to watch a 3 hour documentary about video stores, made by Alex Ross Perry and narrated by Maya Hawke.

The Band, Amyl and the Sniffers performing live.
Left my apartment for the first time since last Thursday morning to get yelled and cussed at by a tiny, awesome Australian.
Round 2!
๐ต Currently it's obvious there are no fair elections
There is no constitution and there is no bill of rights
And if you gather in the streets to demonstrate objections
They'll beat you with a club and whisk you off into the night ๐ต
Jeff Rosenstock and his band playing live on a large stage.
What the fuck is going on!!!? Last time I saw Jeff Rosenstock several years it was on the tiny stage at Baraccuda. This is like a small festival stage and crowd. I had never even heard of this newish venue before buying this ticket. Congrats, Jeff. Couldn't happen to a better guy.
I got to see Black Phone 2 last night. It's their version of Dream Warriors but against The Grabber instead of Freddy. I guess since Madeleine McGraw stole every scene in the first, they pretty much made her the lead of this one. Good fun.
Anyone else ready to watch 30+ movies over the next 8 days?
graffiti that says big tech isn't weird
This was along South Congress a while back and forgot to post it. Hey, @evilmopacatx.bsky.social. Can you use your influence at city hall to see if they can update keep Austin weird with this?
"The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best
The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please"
Tim turns 40.
Happy 60th birthday to punk/basketball icon Guy Picciotto!

I remember after the video for One Armed Scissor came out, someone I knew asked me what that song was about. He was more of a skate punk, and I guess I was his designated post-hardcore and emo contact.
Vinyl record copy of At the Drive-In's Relationship of Command playing on a turntable.
Happy 25th to At the Drive-In's Relationship of Command. A true post-hardcore classic.
One day later, I've decided to give that shooting the attention they give other shootings. So none.
As for Colorado, I hope those two kids pull through.
Anyway, here's "Ironic" by Alanis Nadine Morissette

LET'S FUCKING GO!
I know I told myself I would never again get my hopes up about a statewide election in Texas, but love this guy. Honestly, thought he'd shoot for governor, but let's do this.
A Spirit Halloween is opening at a closed Forever 21. Nature is healing.
Every HEB in Austin is sold out, and I'm sad. I don't think I can watch the new King of the Hill until it's back in stock.
The way I keep seeing videos of people saying they're buying their first ever Superman comics and stores saying they're selling way more Superman books in the last couple of weeks.
Every time a garbage human dies and people want to say, "He was a person, pay some respect.", I think of this Death Cab for Cutie lyric:
And just cause he's gone it doesn't change the fact
He was a bastard in life thus a bastard in death.
Watching Superman for the third consecutive Thursday. As one does.
If you ever get a chance to see Covet play live, find a close spot and just watch Yvette do her magic.
Coolest thing today was finding out one of my favorite guitar players is on the Superman score. Now I'm looking forward to seeing it again tonight even more.
Wow. Local burger chain donates $150,000. HEB donates $5 million. Surely, Buc-ee's would like to respond to the claim that only left leaning Texas companies are charitable and care about the community... *crickets*

Everything is shit and I needed this.
People are always saying, "You? You went to raves?"
And I'll reply, "Sweet child. I skipped my senior prom to go to one at the horse race track."
I think every weekend that year, I was either seeing a band or at a rave.
