In my very humble opinion it's odd for someone to go on about being vegetarian and then say "my only kids are my plants"

I’m very conscious that in a book like thisβ€”really any bookβ€”you only have a very short number of pages to capture the reader, you really have to dunk them right in it fast in a way that 1) makes them go β€œoh cool fuck yeah” but also 2) suggests there’s a lot more under the surface than β€œjust action”

Screenshot of the top of the article including the title and the two epipgraphs, which read as follows, "Queer Transmissions: English Manuscript, Italian Print and a Discomforting History of the Book.

Epigraph one by David Areford, "Confronted with this range of material and contextual complexity, the first scholars of fifteenth-century printmaking were definitely troubled by what they found."

Epigraph two by Sarah Ahmed, "So let's think about how it feels to be comfortable."

My article, "Queer Transmissions" was published today. In it I offer a point of resistance against the prepositional paradigm, from/to, that has dominated book history & expose the broader social imperatives that such an evolutionary model has underwritten. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

Two pairs of beavers released in Cornwall by wildlife trust Wildlife experts say the release is a "landmark" for nature recovering in Cornwall and nationally.

Enjoy a full minute of beavers being released into the wild in Cornwall. These little fluffbutts are the first to swim in these waters in a very, very long time - the last official records of beavers in the wild in England are from the 1300s. BBC buff.ly/BnMwCOx

A riveting psychological thriller that investigates the nature of truth & the meaning of justice, Akira Kurosawa's RASHOMON, starring Toshiro Mifune, is widely considered one of the greatest films ever made. Next Tuesday at 5:15pm in our downstairs screen.
