An old oak tree on the path to Hagg Bank pond where there’s old willow trees with their feet in the water now because the water level is high. Some frogs are enjoying the muddy and damp conditions #ThickTrunkTuesday

I haven’t ever seen any fossils but the stream is high at the moment which I suppose might expose any fossils. Usually there is very little water in this river which feeds into the river Tyne.

As other people have said it could be either scarlet or ruby elf cup but most people call them scarlet elf cup. The difference is in the hairs on the surface, ruby has straight ones and the scarlet ones are curved, you have to use a microscope to see them.
