Attunement. One of my key words.
That supporting safety, both physically and relationally, is the foundation stone for the growth of individuals and their communities.
I wonder about the benefit of the placebo as a genuinely regulating intervention. The regulation of the nervous system, which can be achieved by the presence of an attuned relationship and the sense of being seen, heard and understood, could in itself be useful enough to open the cortex for learning.
Unless you confuse this pull with mal-adaptive addictive ones.
Just collected this wonderful book. It doesnβt shy from the difficulties of losing a loved one but might really support children in your care if used with additional sensitive support. β€οΈβπ©Ή
I happened to bump into someone I know through a choir thing I do this evening - and because weβve briefly chatted before I also know sheβs a #SpecialGuardian. I mentioned the march on Sunday. She had heard nothing about it all.
Belonging matters more than behaviour.
Connection matters more than correction.
Relationships matter most of all.
My Mum always said tea tasted better from a fine china cup/mug π

Iβve managed to move across my tweets! Now to find those I followed and followed me! What do I do for that? π€¦ββοΈπ¨
I also have a theme in my followers that has nothing to do with my focus on child development and education π€¨
It might not be helped by the fact that my approach is based in βrelationshipsβ but not in the way some algorithms use it?!π€ͺ
Great for his development. Time well spent ππ
Too early I think. My contacts are very fixated on the protectionist narrative and βthe mathβ. Less so on the generalised undermining of healthy human relationships.
State dependant understanding needs to be seen as human wide. Showing up differently in different contexts for sure but affecting everyone. βThis child [or yp or adult] in this momentβ (Dr Dan Siegel). π
πMona DelaHooke suggests PDA should be Protective Demand Avoidance. Itβs just an instinct to protect themselves. Mal-adaptive possibly.
Please do not show this in schools! Unless you have had a genuinely reflective planning meeting about how and why it fits into your already supportive culture and if you donβt really have one of those, then thatβs why not to.
The image is a screenshot of a social media post by Laurie Hardman (@LaurieLyricalG ), posted 14 hours ago. The post features a photo of a sidewalk with a message written in white chalk: "THIS IS NOT A LEFT OR RIGHT MOMENT, IT IS A RIGHT OR WRONG MOMENT," attributed to "- SEN. CORY BOOKER." The photo is credited to @karinschall .
Sen. Cory Booker has the floor.
Culture change is needed. Persistent Disruptive Behaviour is statistically the biggest reason for suspensions etc. Itβs persistent for many reasons that punishments canβt change. We need Relational Inclusion to understand & create change over time. Relationships need time and space for flexibility.
Yup to it all. You need to be the guest fir a whole show not just a caller π
It really does. Good to notice ππ·πΈ
Spotted these at edge of the school field just now. Still not out full but great colour!
Iβve seen some glorious ones this week.
Not practical in the currently over stuffed curriculum but another spark of curiosity about how effective learning g might look different.
Good to know. Might need to be ready with notepad for single use rather than cleaning the kitchen or similar then! π
Can they be watched more than once Lisa?
Always be ready to stand and shake hands or gesture for them to sit first. Humans respond to being connected to and valued/respected (ding like that word though) As a parent some teachers came off as disinterested and in a βnextβ mentality which does not set a positive start.
#primaryrocks ? canβt remember any of the others.
