I just downloaded about 20 years of IPEDS data and the College Scorecard data but there is still so much useful data as well as reports on the NCES site. Who has a better solution to scrape or mirror the full site???
Please do not vote to confirm RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary. Actual lives are at stake with this important decision.
He has also been clear that he “serves at the pleasure of the President” and will enact Trump’s viewpoints and priorities. As a special needs parent, I am terrified especially given Trump’s views that some people with disabilities should “die” due to the expense as stated about his nephew.
3. As HHS secretary he would oversee Medicare and Medicaid (the latter provides healthcare to 80 million Americans), the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health.
2. He is a conspiracy theorist with no medical training or expertise who has also claimed that HIV does not cause AIDS and that Lyme disease is a “military bioweapon” among many other dangerous views, the latter of which he admitted he has said in his confirmation hearing this week.
It cannot be understated how much of a threat RFK Jr. is to public health in our country.
Three things:
1. He believes there are “no effective or safe vaccines,” continues to push the widely discredited claim that vaccines cause autism, and profits as a “consultant” on anti-vaccine lawsuits.
I’ve been trying to gather my thoughts on RFK Jr. Here is the letter I plan to send to key Senators (in comments). I know we are tired already and I know I can’t personally engage on every issue while preserving my sanity. But he is truly unfit and lives will be lost if he is confirmed.
What happened today was not an accident. This administration wants to see how far we will let them go to eliminate programs for low-income children and families, people with disabilities, and many others.
Stay alert and stay vocal.
“as written the pause could affect programs that aid lower-income households, including: Medicaid; school breakfast and lunch; Section 8; Title I education grants; Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; child care; Head Start; and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program.”
