My favorite part of Houston's announcement was when he said resource extraction companies are going to come here, set up shop & spend money (before they destroy our environment & hide in tax havens). While ignoring that people who already live, work & spend money here are losing their livelihood.

It's so bad that we've reached a point where members of Congress casually discuss stripping citizenship from and deporting people because they don't like their views.
On my regular morning walk I quite often see a city truck parked at Alderney Landing while the driver picks up trash from several locations around the park. They leave the truck idling. When I ask if they've ever been told not to idle, the answer is always no. On the + side they do have 1 EV pickup
I mostly see our parks and rec department driving around in big trucks like f350s with empty beds.
