I imagine James has always seen Keith as attractive, so he doesn’t understand why Keith is so self-conscious. If anything, the scar is just worrying bc it means Keith was hurt. So when he expresses this to Keith, Keith realizes that his scar and what it represents isn’t something to be ashamed of ❤️🧡

I don’t think Keith is one to think about his looks very much, but I like to hc that he begins thinking about it more once he’s more romantically interested in someone. And so Keith being self-conscious about his face scar (even though it’s aesthetic to everyone else lol)!

I feel like Keith would have a lot of loaded feelings about his scar, especially because Shiro was the one to give it to him (but not really) and it’s right on his face, a constant reminder of his hurts/failures.
