Hey #envhist! Parks Canada is ending its library services+ โdecommissioningโ its collection. We stand to lose a valuable set of materials that reveal if and how the Agency fulfilled its mandate (or didnโt). This is tragic.. โPamelaโ is a great name.

Thatโs terrible.
Mmhmm. And visible puffballs under the bed. But the sheets make up for that.

Maybe I need to pull it into very small pieces for them. I do toss it onto branches of a shrub, not onto the ground.
You can put it into the compost too.
In spring I put it out for birds to use for their nests, but they donโt seem to take it.
If you donโt have them already, buy a set of linen sheets.
I wonder whether Poilievre will know undergo another tax-funded face and body makeover to try to look like Mark Carney.
It looks like a spine.
I knew the UCPโs book-banning purge of school libraries would be something this stupid and ridiculous. โGraphic novelsโ are novels that are DRAWN โas in comic books. It doesnโt mean they contain sexually โgraphicโ contents. JFC.

Worth a read, from The Walrus, a Canadian cultural/political magazine: thewalrus.ca/canada-is-al...
Unreal shot.
Oil and gas wonโt stop until Alberta is a total wasteland.
New 'reason not to travel to the US':
1. regulatory oversight compromised - food, transport, etc, potentially dangerous
2. threatening ๐ sovereignty (and that of others)
3. started an illegal war
4. boycott the immoral and vicious MAGA movement
5. Ukraine
+
6. greater potential for terror incidents
I prefer a political solution though.
Karma would have such an easy time with this.

A flock, yikes. My first thought on seeing this one was I hope you're an overwintering bird and already know where you can find food. Not oh, a sign of spring. I also saw a newly hatched lady bug a few days ago. I hope it found refuge somewhere.
First robin, 2026. In a blizzard.

The Gulf states & Israel depend on water desalination to live. If Israel & US break the taboo of bombing vulnerable desal infrastructure, they risk catastrophic harm.
Percent of drinking water from desal:
Israel: 80%
Kuwait: 90%
Saudi Arabia: 70%
Oman: 86%
UAW: 42%

I see I have Seth Kantner, Ordinary Wolves, but haven't read it yet. A novel, not nonfiction.
Mm, I will look up that book. My article is called "The Ontology and Epistemology of Walking: Animality in Karsten Heuerโs Being Caribou: Five Months on Foot with an Arctic Herd," and it's chapter 21, open access, in here: press.ucalgary.ca/books/978155...
I agree. One of my favourite books and films. I published an article on the book.
I donโt know whether theyโre still doing it but thereโs a bakery here which compels all its employees to sing out in unison a โGoood morning!!โ When a customer walks in. I found it creepy and my first visit was also my last.
