The price of the single is just a little more than one expensive coffee (if you drink decaf oat milk coffees like me, anyway), & you can give as much as you like. I’ve deliberately set this single to be listenable only when you buy it. Please also share if you see fit.
It was made with my bandmates from You Are Wolf, Juice Vocal Ensemble & DOLLYman. Each musician composed their own part and recorded it remotely, without hearing what any other had created, in the spirit of trust & collaboration. Everyone has given their creativity for free.
Photos of Siwar, a baby girl suffering from malnutrition in Gaza, were seen internationally in April, and inspired this song. Thankfully, she's since been evacuated to Jordan for medical aid. This song is a lullaby for all children suffering mentally and physically due to Israel’s genocide.

But it made me weep to watch after the 'island of strangers' comment from Keir Starmer. I collected UK children's observations of their home town's sounds, & got the sense of a country full of rich culture & community. I made their words into a long poem. These kids felt connected. Not strangers.
An island of community. An island of interconnectedness. An island of home.
It was nice to be on telly this morning - CBBC reran the BBC Ten Pieces episode on 'Home', starting with my piece No Place Like. Look at that pink hair!
